In a large pot, cover the potatoes with lightly salted water and bring to a boil.
Cook for 13 minutes or until just tender. Drain and cool completely.
In a large bowl, add the sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, lime zest, hot sauce, red onion, chives and garlic. Whisk until combined.
Add the potatoes and toss to coat.
Season with sea salt and pepper. Serve cold or at room temperature.
